Local Demonstration Project

It is now time for local religious communities to stand up and be counted if the poverty [or whatever deeply felt moral issue] that is rampant in our nation and world is to be addressed. Many religious communities are strategically positioned and uniquely qualified to become signs, locally and regionally, of how its committed members, working in cooperation with other local entities, can effectively address this issue at the local level. It will take (1) a small core of committed members who will make this a priority, (2) a critical mass of other members who will work with the core to support and implement the programs, (3) the support and involvement of the group’s religious leader (pastor, rabbi, imam, etc.) and staff, and (4) the endorsement and support of the local religious group’s administrative body. While all of these may not be forthcoming at once, all will be critical if the effort is to have sustainable success. ~Randy Williams, Catholic layperson, Texas

Sounds like a plan, especially if the small core of committed members, and one person, especially, will lay it on the line. Namaste.
