Reality Therapy

[Cartoon with medical doctor “in the face” of a fat patient about 60:] “What fits your busy schedule better, exercising one hour a day or being dead 24 hours a day?” ~Randy Glasbergen, 1998, glasbergen.com

Do you think the patient got the point? Saying yes to reality is good, even if you want to clobber the messenger. ~jpc

Truth can set us free. Namaste.

Wow!! Good one. It's too bad we aren't more comfortable speaking to one another in terms like this without taking offense. It doesn't always work (you catch more flies with honey than with vinegar), but we certainly we need it at times.

As I sit here rationalizing why I didn't go workout tonight, I'm reading this and feeling very slovenly.

Of course, I have dear friends that need exercise MUCH MORE THAN ME (why, of course). Now I can be my passive-aggressive self, forward your Reflection on to them, and let you be the bad guy for making such a startling statement. When they start working out regularly, then I'll start, but I don't want to make them feel bad, so I'll just have an ice cream sandwich and go on to bed.

Good evening.
