Democracy is an infinitely including spirit. We have an instinct for democracy because we have an instinct for wholeness. ~Mary Parker Follett, The New State (1918)
Where do we get that instinct if not from the way life is? We are driven to wholeness. Our founding fathers articulated this well, and in spite of our poor self-image these days, the USA manifests and demonstrates wholeness pretty darn well, but not as it shall be. ~jpc
We celebrate our wholeness today. Namaste.

I don’t understand your connection between democracy and spirit and
wholeness although it sounds mighty good. Maybe I'm mistaken, but I thought our founding fathers warned us against democracy saying all democracies become tyrannies.
Therefore, the Constitution and Bill of Rights is that of a Republic.
In a democracy of two wolves and a sheep, there is a fine lamb dinner. In a republic the lamb’s right not be eaten is protected.
I do agree that the US has become a democracy with those in control eating lamb. Actually, I think it is worse than that. Are you aware of “The Trilateral Commission” and its goal to combine the US, Mexico and Canada into the North American Union with a government that supersedes our Congress and Supreme Court by 2010? Bye, bye to our borders and our solvency. How about the Council on Foreign Relation and their goals?
You may agree with this thinking. A lot of what you write seems very 'New Age'. I find it very distrubing.
Happy Independence Day. There may not be many more.
