Why is Christianity so ambivalent about the non-human aspects of creation?
I suspect that there are lots of Buddhists among those who grind up rhino horns to help them get it up. And if the Brahmin Hindu respect for nature at the expense of the Untouchables is a virtue, I'll pass it up. Stated another way, I think that sin is universal.
Tom, Agreed and indeed re: the universality of sin. As a Christian and a sinner, my question is about the philosophy/theology/concepts of religion more than the practice of it. What were the historical, cultural and other contexts that lead to the development of the Christian religion that is in large measure ambivalent (at best) about the relationship of man and nature?
